The northern part of the island of Fuerteventura

Manajichio

8 km of unpaved dirt road leads from Corralejo west along the coast to a small beach and the fishing village of Majanichio. The road itself between the volcanoes and the lava fields on the left, and the golden beaches and the ocean on the right is an unforgettable experience (the route can be covered by a passenger car, although off-road is recommended). The Majanichio settlement itself is just a few illegally built white houses over a 100-meter bay – an ideal and extremely quiet place for sunbathing. A more civilized and almost as spectacular way to get to this settlement at the end of the world is the asphalt road leading from Lajares to Majanichio.

The most beautiful routes: Bayuyo Trail

5 km southwest of the center of Corralejo rises the crater of the Bayuyo volcano. To enter the path leading to the volcano, turn left at the Corralejo bus station. It's easy to climb to the top, and from the top there are beautiful views of the north of Fuerteventura, on Lobos and Lanzarote. To cover the entire route of the Sendero de Bayuyo, one must go to Lajares, where the trail begins, leading through volcanic landscapes to Corralejo.

the Cotillo

A small fishing village, neglected in places (which, contrary to appearances, adds to its charm), it lies on the northwest coast. Little white houses are located around the black volcanic bay, where fishing boats probably once stood, and now has anchored some nice restaurants. There are beautiful golden beaches to the north and south of the town, which although attract a lot of tourists, they are incomparably less crowded than those at larger resorts. Just outside of El Cotillo, a small black tower rises on a black volcanic cliff, El Tostón Castle, where the exhibition of weapons was organized. A few kilometers north (Access via an asphalt road) there is a charming maroon lighthouse, Cotillo Lighthouse. There are buses to El Cotillo from Puerto del Rosario several times a day (#7) i z Corralejo (#8; ok. 40 min).

El Cotillo is slowly transforming into a small and very quiet resort, where you can enjoy the peace, but also try your hand at diving and snorkeling or rent surfing equipment and bicycles.

You can stay at the Mana Hieno hotel, and for a longer stay, rent an apartment, e.g. Juan Benitez Lub Antonia Apartments. However, the best place is decorated in an original way, but with taste La Gauiota apartments.

El Cotillo is one of those places, where to order fish dishes, because they are sure to be fresh.

Noteworthy is the excellent restaurant La Vaca Azul with a beautiful view of a small bay and the sea. In the less elegant Casa Andres the owner, who is also a chef, guarantees excellent food at a reasonable price.
