Beaches

The coastline of the island is very varied and is almost 240 km.

The outskirts of the island are therefore rich in many charming coves and numerous beaches, with bright (on the south) and black, volcanic (on the north) sand.

The Canary Islands pride themselves on being one of the cleanest beaches in Europe. Tenerife actually has quite a few small ones, but beautiful beaches.

Tenerife has approx 358 kilometers of coastline, lots of natural and some man-made beaches.

There are slightly more beaches in the south of Tenerife than in the north. The north of the island has a steeper coast and in many places ends with sudden bluffs.

The south has a smoother and easier descent into the water. A novelty for tourists visiting Tenerife for the first time is the view of black volcanic sand. These are the beaches, which were shaped by the forces of nature.
